Constant blaating!
Mamas calling their babies
Babies frantically calling back
Echoes back and forth
Persistent
Night is still
All but the sound of the bleating
every now and then
reverberating
into the silence of night
Until tomorrow
when all is quiet
A necessary evil that would break my heart every time. I'm happy to miss out on that aspect (and a few others, let's be honest) of farm life. But it does mean spring is arriving...right?
ReplyDeleteOH man! I never even considered the fact that farm animals are weaned! Poor babies. Hopefully it's over soon and they can move on. Love how you structured this today.
